If you’re looking for a recovery tool that doesn’t take up much space, can travel with you to races, and won’t break your budget, your search might end here. Venom Go is a small, lightweight device that provides quick relief for sore, tight muscles anywhere.
I tend to get really sore shoulders and neck muscles, especially when I spend long hours at my desk, lift heavier weights, or do intense training.
As much as I wish I could just book a massage whenever things get tight, that’s not always realistic. Having something that I can wear at home while relaxing or multitasking has been a life saver……especially marathon training.
Enter Hyperice Venom Go.
I know, I know, you might be looking at this little case and wondering how it could make a difference. But I promise, the first time you use it, you’ll get it.
And for full transparency, I bought this with my own money. This review is based on constant use of the Venom Go over the last few years, no sponsorship, just real experience.
Hyperice Venom Go Review
Hyperice’s Venom line includes a selection of products designed to target specific areas of the body. Instead of compression, these products utilize heat and vibration for recovery.
Unlike the larger Venom devices, the Go is designed for spot handling, alignment and release under the adhesive pad and pad only.
You can choose from different combinations of heat and vibration to soothe tense, tight muscles. Or if you just want gentle warmth, you can use the heating setting as is, like a heating pad.
The pad only takes a few seconds to heat up, and even on the highest setting, it doesn’t feel too hot or like it’s burning your skin.
Of course, if you’re someone who’s sensitive to temperature, you’ll want to experiment with each level to find what feels comfortable to you.
You can choose from three vibration levels depending on what your body needs:
- Level 1: Steady and steady vibration
- Level 2: Faster, intermittent vibration
- Level 3: A pattern of 2-3 rapid pulses followed by a longer, steady vibration
Since I usually use it while working at a desk, I usually stick to level 3. It’s noticeable enough to help, but not so strong that it distracts me.
However, just like with heat, experiment with settings to find the most comfortable for you.
How does it compare to the rest of the Venom lineup? See all Hyperice product comparison article see.

What you get
In this small carrying case you will find everything you need to use your Venom Go device.
When you make your purchase through Hyperice websiteyou get the following:
- 1 Venom Go case
- 3 Venom Go sticker pads
- USB-C charging cable
Each adhesive pad can be used up to 20 times. When you’re ready to place a new order, you can easily do so through the website.
This is TSA friendly, which means you can pack it in your carry-on without worrying about it being taken away.
Battery and charging
On the lowest heat setting, the dough can last up to an hour, but if you use maximum heat and vibration together, you’ll get closer to 20 minutes per charge.
Depending on how you use it, that can be perfectly fine, but if you’re trying to treat multiple spots in one session, you may find yourself needing to reload between uses.
You can charge the Venom Go pod with a USB-C charging cable and it takes about 2-3 hours to fully charge. The light on the pod will turn solid green when it’s ready to use.
How to use it
The Venom Go pod attaches magnetically to the adhesive pads, so you’ll want to make sure it snaps into place. You’ll know right away if it didn’t connect properly because the heat and vibration won’t start.
Each side of the Venom Go case has a button:
- Power button
- HyperHeat button
- Vibrate button
- Charging port
You can also connect the Venom Go to the Hyperice app via Bluetooth if you want to adjust settings from your phone.
And if you’re like me and have slowly collected more than one Hyperice recovery tool, the app makes life easier because you can combine them all and track battery life and usage in one place.
Venom Go is designed to be hands-free so you can treat sore spots and get on with your day. You don’t have to sit in one spot on the couch and stay there for 20-60 minutes (unless you want to, we 100% support just relaxing).
Just attach the adhesive pad, click the pad into place, select the settings and go about your day. It’s really simple.
When you’re done, remove the case and press the liner back onto the adhesive pad. You get about 20 uses per pad; the liner just helps maintain the stickiness after each use.
My experience with Venom Go
My neck and shoulders are always the places where I hold tension. Is life stressful, training is accelerating or I spend long hours at my desk.
The Venom Go doesn’t remove that tightness like a full massage would, but it helps me enough to get through the day without constant stretching.
As I mentioned before, it is great for spot treatment. If you have a muscle that is difficult to reach with a foam roller, the Venom Go has been a really good option for getting targeted relief.
- Very compact and comes with a carrying case to keep everything together
- Adhesive pads can be used up to 20 times
- Perfect for traveling
- It does not treat a large area, only targeted spots
- The battery only lasts an hour
Does Venom Go help relieve muscle pain? Yes, absolutely.
Does everyone have to buy it and add it to their daily routine? Not necessarily.
It’s a great recovery tool, especially if you’re on a busy schedule, but you can easily use a regular heating pad and be fine.
The difference here is convenience; This is a small relief that you can take anywhere and use without your day stopping… or having to be near an outlet.
90%
While I raved about the Venom Go throughout this review, I couldn’t give it a full 100% rating, mostly because of the price. The heat and vibration together help relieve tight, sore muscles. In addition, it’s great if you’re on the go, traveling and don’t want to lug around a big heating pad in your suitcase.
I am a big fan of all Hyperice Go products because they are small, easy to carry around and don’t take up much space. My Venom Go literally sitting on a shelf in my office so I can grab it whenever I need it.
